Bill Paxton   1955- 2017

Hollywood star and actor in a number of blockbuster films including The Terminator, Aliens and Apollo 13 passed away this month after complications with planned surgery. Paxton studied abroad in London in 1973 as part of his degree course at New York University. His legacy will carry on through the films he made.

Adebayo Akanji 1968- 2017

 Ade was Richmond's IT Operations Manager for 20 years. He passed away on 1st February after complications due to a stroke. He is survived by a younger sister and 2 younger brothers and his many friends and colleagues from his years at Richmond. It's with great sadness that we mourn the death of Jay Michael, Richmond alum, member of the University Board of Trustees and the Founding Partner and Chief Marketing & Creative Officer of Cedar Street Companies in Chicago. Jay was a lifestyle architect, media-lover, world traveller and friend to all he met. He had an uncanny ability to see the positive and the possibilities in everything and anything. He leaves behind a loving family and his extended Richmond family in London and around the world. It's with a heavy heart that we mourn the death of Damla Tokcan Faro, BA in Communications/ International Business 1997. Many of you will know that Damla was a talented photographer and London business owner who enjoyed sharing the joy she found in beautiful things. Damla passed away this week having lost her battle with cancer.
